"It been a long time, been a long time, been a long lonely lonely time." -Led Zepplin
It's funny what can happen when time and space whip you up randomly and toss you down. Sort of like a twister.
Funny, and here I am now in Kansas with Jolly Roger a bit on the back burner. There in August, roughly ten days after the last blog before this, I got an offer to coach college volleyball in the state of Kansas. After consultation with the family, the decision was made for me to move to Kansas (leaving them in Illinois...) to take advantage of the opportunity.
Yowsers...I can't believe the number of 90 and 100 hour weeks I've put in. Really, other than the absence of Julie and the kids, I like it. I get to teach, I get to coach, and I don't have administrators who fawn over rich parish members but instead let teachers teach and coaches coach. Other than the usual grumbles that exist in life, an education paradise.
Even wrote a novel and am finishing a second one soon. The question is how to get them published--they are pretty good, but probably a bit too serious for most tastes--even if I don't use profanity or nudity in them.
As for Jolly Roger, I'm stumped at the moment on how to get Alan Newman's game into production--the European costs are high for the game and I don't think I can get the game in under $25.00. Tomorrow though I'll get pricing from China--guess that may make all the difference.
The good thing is that there are several good games in the pipeline once that's finished. And just as good, Victory & Honor and Four Dragons were named games of the year by GAMES Magazine which was very cool since most of the games come from big publishers and I am a one-man, half-time operation.
